The hydrostatic drive unit has a hydraulic pump (1) driven by a motor, and an identical hydraulic motor (3) which is connected to the output shaft (4). The hydraulic pump and motor consist of axial pistons (6) which are connected to woble plates (5) on the input and output shaft. An inclined regulator disc (10) is placed between the pump (1) and the motor (3). Over part of its circumference, the disc is provided with gear teeth (12) which are in mesh with a gear rack (13) that is attached to a control piston. The regulator disc also has a cam profile over part of its circumference with which the control lever of a throttle valve is operated. The disc (10) setting thus governs the transmission ratio in relation to the torque load on the drive unit. |
