PURPOSE:To constitute a network excellent in responsiveness by providing a data communication channel and a polling control channel independently so as to minimize the effect of the polling control on the data communication channel. CONSTITUTION:While a transmitter 3-l of a slave station sends a data packet frame (packet l) 14 onto a data communication channel 1, a transmitter 3 being a master station continues to send a transmission enable frame (El+1, El+2,...Em) 15 in a predetermined order till an affirmative response frame (Am) 16 is returned from a slave station through a transmission line acquisition channel 12. When the affirmative response frame (Am) 16 comes, a transmitter 3-m sending the affirmative response frame (Am) 16 acquires the transmission right. The transmitter 3-m awaits it that the data communication channel 11 is idle and starts sending a data packet frame (packet m) 14 immediately after the channel is idle. Thus, the time used for the polling control required for a conventional system is eliminated.
