PURPOSE:To reduce the deflection of a roll and to coat paint in uniform thickness, by applying bending moment on the fulcrum of a roll shaft at least on one side of a pair of rolls which sandwich with pressure a non-magnetic supporting body with prescribed pressure, or a part separated from the fulcrum of the shaft, for the shaft. CONSTITUTION:When load is applied on the tip blocks of the shafts 4a and 5a of both rolls 4 and 5 in an orthogonal direction to the shaft by a load mechanism 18 respectively, the bending moment in a deflective direction so that the operating parts of both rolls 4 and 5 are pressurized are applied on the shafts 4a and 5a of both rolls 4 and 5. Therefore, deflection due to the nip pressure of both rolls 4 and 5 are offset by the bending moment, and deflective difference of both rolls 4 and 5 for central straight lines a4 and a5 are reduced, that is, an elastic deflection quantity is reduced, and the nip pressure of both rolls 4 and 5 are uniformized over entire width. In such way, the paint can be coated in uniform thickness on the non-magnetic supporting body.
