PURPOSE:To heighten charge-discharge efficiency for extending the service life of the cell in the caption, by a method wherein an alloy of an Li, Cd, Pb and Bi system is used for a negative electrode, an active material mainly composed of gamma-MnO2 is used for a positive electrode and electric capacity able to perform charge and discharge of the negative electrode is made to be 58-80 % of the electric capacity able to perform charge-discharge of the positive electrode. CONSTITUTION:An Li-Cd-Pb-Bi system alloy is used for a negative electrode alloy 1 of a lithium secondary cell and an active material mainly composed of gamma-MnO2 is used for a positive electrode black mixture 6. Said negative electrode alloy 1 and positive electrode black mixture 6 are housed in a case 4 through a separator 7 and an impregnation material 8. Electric capacity able to perform charge-discharge of the negative electrode is made 58-80 % of the capacity able to perform charge-discharge of the positive electrode of the lithium secondary cell of said constitution. Then, the charge-discharge efficiency is heightened for extending the service life of a cell to have a characteristic for enduring an overdischarge state of zero volt. |
