PURPOSE:To simply and lightly concentrate a waste developer, by using a sheet material folded in a zigzag pattern as an evaporation medium for concentrating the waste developer and by absorbing the moisture in the waste developer by utilizing a capillary phenomenon. CONSTITUTION:An evaporation medium 1 is composed of a nonwoven fabric 2 having capillary action and reinforced by wires 3 to be formed into a zigzag shape. The waste developer 7 discharged from a pipe 8 flows on a floor surface 9 to penetrate into the evaporation medium 1 by the capillary action of the evaporation medium 1 and the moisture in the waste developer is sucked up by the nonwoven fabric 2 to be spread over the whole of the evaporation medium 1. At this time, since the open air flows in from vent holes 5a by a fan 10a to generate an air stream in a case 4a, the moisture sucked up by the evaporation medium 1 over the entire surface thereof is evaporated to be diffused from vent holes 5b.
