PURPOSE:To make a key depression circuit understandable by using the combination of the lighting/distinguishing states of at least four LEDs so as to display 4-bit data as display codes and setting the display code at that time as high- order or low-order code data in depressing the setting end key. CONSTITUTION:A code setting key 21 is depressed once to set the mode of the sending original recording routine from the main routine. In setting the mode, the 4-bit of display codes are displayed by the combination of the on/ offstate of, e.g., 4 LEDs 27-30. The display code as above is revised at every depression of the code setting key 21. In depressing the setting end key at a point of time when the code is the display code coincident with the desired high-order code, the display code is set as the high-order code by depressing the set end key. Then the low-order code setting is transited, and also in this case, the display code displayed by the LEDs 27-30 is revised sequentially until it is coincident with the low-order code, and the character code in matching with both the codes is set and registered to the sender memory 37 automatically.
