PURPOSE:To efficiently produce UF6, by bringing a mineral acid solution of yellow cake into contact with a diaminocarboxylic acid chelate resin and subjecting the resultant solution to electrolytic reduction. CONSTITUTION:A mineral acid solution of yellow cake having 10-250g/l mineral acid concentration, 50-250g/l uranium concentration, 150mg/l-15g/l impurity metal concentration and 0.5-3.5pH is passed through a column packed with a diaminocarboxylic acid chelate in a rate of <=10l/Hr to remove the impurity metal and provide a uranyl solution, which is then subjected to electrolytic reduction to afford an uranous solution. Diluted fluoric acid solution is added to the resultant uranous solution to precipitate UF4 particle. Then the UF4 particles are washed with water, dried and brought into contact with a F gas diluted with an inert gas to provide UF6 gas, which is then caught into a cold trap to condense UF6. The above-mentioned chelate resin is brought into contact with a mineral acid to regenerate the resin.
