PRODUCTION OF ZINC CHLORIDE FROM METAL PLATING ASH

摘要

PURPOSE:To readily obtain a zinc chloride solution of high purity, by adding potassium permanganate and zinc powder to a solution obtained by dissolving a metal plating ash in hydrochloric acid and separating and removing iron and lead from the solution. CONSTITUTION:Hydrochloric acid is added to a metal plating ash which is dross residue after adding flux to dross generated in a metal plating bath and redissolving zinc in the dross into a metal plating liquid to remove the zinc from the dross and the ash is dissolved in the hydrochloric acid. Then the solution is separated from the residue and potassium manganate is added to the solution to separate and remove iron. Then zinc powder is added to the solution after removing the iron content to separate and remove lead. As a result, zinc chloride solution of high purity is obtained.
