PURPOSE:To attain a compact and inexpensive numerical controller which can work at a high speed by using a DSP (digital signal processor) build in a dual port RAM to transfer a position command received from a CPU as well as the feedback data on a control subject. CONSTITUTION:A main CPU 1 gives a position command, a servo constant, etc., of a motor 17 to a DSP 8 via a dual port RAM 11. Thus, the DSP 8 controls the drive of the motor 17 according to the command of the CPU 1 and feeds the feedback data on the position, the speed, etc., of the motor 17 received from a servo amplifier back to the CPU 1 via the RAM 11. A CPU set at the servo amplifier side outputs a signal with which a PWM generator 14 gives the ON/OFF control to a power transistor 16 based on a command given from the CPU 1. At the same time, the position of the motor 17 is detected and monitored so that the motor 17 is driven as commanded by the CPU 1.
