PURPOSE:To miniaturize a light projecting part for imprinting data by imprinting data having expansion is a direction rectangular to a film traveling direction in an oblique direction so that the expansion is compressed. CONSTITUTION:When a camera is located on a vertical direction, a switch 3 is turned on and a signal through the switch is inputted to a decoder 13 to switch an address in the decoder 13. The data are divided into 'month', 'date' and 'year', the divided data are expressed horizontally and 'month' expressed by three alphabets is shifted in the longitudinal direction of a film every character. Thereby, the character width expand in the direction rectangular to the film traveling direction is compressed until the character width is equal to that of 'date' and 'year' expressed by two digits. Thus, all data can be impressed by the small number of light projecting parts (LEDa-LEDk).
