PURPOSE:To readily recover GeO2 from Ge-containing ethylene glycol solution, by hydrolyzing the Ge-containing ethylene glycol solution at a specific Ge concentration and temperature and depositing GeO2. CONSTITUTION:In a recovering method of germanium dioxide consisting of depositing and separating the germanium dioxide by hydrolysis from ethylene glycol solution containing germanium generated from production process of polyester, the hydrolysis is carried out in the germanium concentration of the solution of >=0.6wt.% based on GeO2 and water concentration of 3-7wt.% at 100-140 deg.C. When pH value of the solution is adjusted to 3.0-9.0 by adding a base together with water to the solution in the above-mentioned hydrolysis, granule size of the deposited germanium dioxide does not only become large, but also deposition amount thereof can be increased.
