PURPOSE:To stabilize control operation, by using two pairs of supporting bars set in parallel relation, arranging those bars in such a way that they cross each other, and driving rotatably a movable body around a crossing point related to traveling in a tracking direction. CONSTITUTION:Since a plane formed by a first pair 15 of supporting bars and the plane formed by a second pair 16 of supporting bars are set in crossed relation, the traveling direction of the movable body 18 is regulated in a direction in parallel with those planes, and a rotating direction around the crossing line of two planes. Therefore, as for focusing, by moving the movable body 18 in the direction in parallel with each plane, it is possible to drive the objective lens 17 orthogonally against an optical recording medium. Also, as for tracking, by moving rotatably the movable body around the crossing line, it is possible to drive the objective lens 17 in the radius direction of the optical recording medium. In such a way, it is possible to facilitate a servo pull-in operation at the time of starting the control operation, and to obtain a stable control characteristic.
