PURPOSE:To operate a redox-flow cell so as to maximize the total energy by specifying the flow rate of each of positive solution, negative solution, and voltage per cell in charge-discharge. CONSTITUTION:In a redox flow cell fabricated by stacking plural cells comprising a positive chamber and a negative chamber partitioned by a separator, the flow rate of each of positive solution and negative solution is limited to 0.08-0.25 cm<3>/min. per square centimeter of electrode area, and voltage per cell is limited to 0.75-1.2V during charge-discharge. Wide fluctuation of current and voltage during operation is avoided and the total energy of the cell is maximized. |
