PURPOSE:To improve weatherability and adhesiveness by forming a plasma- polymerized underlying film having a specific refractive index by polymn. of an org. silicon compd. CONSTITUTION:The plasma-polymerized underlying film is formed by polymn. of the org. silicon compd. The refractive index at 6,328Angstrom of this plasma- polymerized underlying film is confined to 1.3-1.7. The compactness of the film is insufficient, the sastisfactory weatherability is not obtainable and the adhesiveness is insufficient if the refractive index is below 1.3. The hardness of the polymerized film increases and the adhesiveness thereof to a sputtered film, vapor deposited film, for example, intermediate layer 15 and protective layer 16, etc., installed in contact with the polymerized film is defective, if the refractive index exceeds 1.7. The optical recording medium having the excellent weatherability and the high adhesion is thereby obtd. |
