PURPOSE:To uniformily adhere water droplets of dampening water only to the non- image line part on a plate surface, by bringing the high temp. humid air generated by a humid air generating means into contact with the plate surface cooled by a cooling means to adhere water driplets only to the non-image line part. CONSTITUTION:The plate surface 10 having an image line part and a non-image line part of a PS plate is wound around a plate cylinder 9 and a cooling means 11 such as a cooler for cooling the plate surface 10 is mounted to the plate cylinder 9. Dampening water 2 is formed into mist by a sprayer 12 and further converted to steam by a fan heater 13 to be scattered to the plate surface 10 by a nozzle 14. The plate surface 10 is cooled by the cooling means 11 but, since a metal such as aluminum is exposed in the non-image line part as it is, said non-image line part has high cooling capacity but, since the image line part is composed of a heat non-conductive substance such as a resin, said image line part has no cooling capacity. Dew condensation is performed at the non-image line part while, since the image line part absorbs no heat, no dew condensation is generated. As mentioned above, the plate surface 10 wherein water droplets are adhered only to the non-image line part repels ink and the ink is adhered only to the image line part. |
