PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive thermal transfer ink sheet cassette reduced in the generation of the twist or wrinkles of the ink sheet in a cassette when the ink sheet is held, excellent in handling property and suitable for disposable use, by constituting the ink sheet cassette of a cassette housing receiving the supply reel and take-up reel of the thermal transfer ink sheet and having an ink sheet opening part provided thereto, a rotation stop member of each reel and a cover material covering both of them. CONSTITUTION:An ink sheet 1 is wound around a supply reel 2 and one end thereof is stretched over a take-up reel 3 to take up the ink sheet in the direction shown by an arrow A. A cassette housing 6 consists of a supply reel receiving part 4, a take-up reel receiving part 5 and an opening part 7 exposing the recording surface of the ink sheet. Further, a rotation stop member 11 for stopping the rotation of the reels 2, 3 by rotation shop pawls 12 is engaged with the reels 2, 3. A covering material 8 is composed, for example, of a resin film or paper material having flexibility to cover the cassette housing 6 and the rotation stop member 11 in a closely contacted state. Therefore, the cassette housing 6 has a shell structure in the state covered with the covering material and can secure sufficient strength. By this constitution, a cassette suitable for disposable use, inexpensive and simple to discard is obtained.
