POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester resin composition having high mechanical strength and excellent moldability at low mold temperature, by adding a specific amount of a specific copolymer to a polyester produced by using a polyalkylene glycol and an alkylene glycol as diol component. CONSTITUTION:(A) A polyester resin composed of a bifunctional carboxylic acid recurring unit and a diol recurring unit containing 1-45wt.% polyalkylene glycol (preferably polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight of 300-8,000 or tetramethylene glycol) and 99-55wt.% alkylene glycol is compounded with (B) a copolymer composed of an aromatic vinyl compound (preferably styrene) and an alpha,beta-unsaturated cyclic acid anhydride (preferably maleic anhydride) at a weight ratio (A/B) of 70:30-95:5. Preferably, 5-200pts.wt. of a reinforcing filler is added to the composition based on 100pts.wt. of the resin component.
