PURPOSE:To facilitate a thread guard work, by a method wherein a plurality of filaments are stretched around a plurality of rollers in a state that the thread contact part of a thread guard auxiliary device is moved in a position where introduction of a filament to the filament introduction part of a filament processing device is interrupted. CONSTITUTION:In a rodform thread contact part 7 of a thread guard device 5, a moving element 6 is protruded through operation of a switch 8, and is positioned so that a filament Y is prevented from introduction to filament introduction parts 2 and 2' of a filament processing device 1. with this state, two filaments Y1 and Y2 are stretched through a position above the filament processing device 1 round rollers R1 and R2 with the aid of a thread contact part 7. The thread contact part 7 of a thread guard auxiliary device 5 is moved to a position, where running of the filament Y is prevented from being interrupted, through operation of the switch 8. The filaments Y1 and Y2 running between the rollers R1 and R2 and the rollers R2 and R2 are introduced through the filament introduction parts 2 and 2' to the respective filament processing parts of the filament processing device 1, and are processed on their respective independent conditions. This constitution facilitates a thread guard work, prevents cutting of a filament, and enables provision of a filament having uniform quality.
