PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent reproduced image without any distortion by generating a phase error signal by comparing a signal inputted to a line memory and a signal outputted after frequency conversion from the line memory, taking out only the AC component from thus generated phase error signal to make it a centering control signal. CONSTITUTION:A phase comparator circuit PC outputs a phase error signal generated from between a signal S3 outputted from a frequency converter circuit FCONVb and an output signal from the line memory LM. From this phase error signal, only its AC component is taken out by a capacitor C, and supplied as a centering control signal Scc to the input terminal 20 of a deflection control circuit DEFC. As a result, picture distortion can be prevented even when an external magnetic field that may cause the distortion is present during respective vertical scanning periods.
