摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of use of a link in which the routes of signal lines forming a signal path from a terminal office to the central station can be made shortest and least in number by making the central station identify a bit of failure information and set an alternative route, and to inform the end office of the alternative route. CONSTITUTION:The central station 10 designates a repeater station 20 against the terminal office 40 an normal operation. In case a signal line in route (a) encounters a failure, the repeater station 20 detects the failure, and transmits the failure information to the central station 10. The center 10 recognizes this failure information by means of its own received information analysis means 12 and failure identification means 14, and informs of an alternative route setting means 15 of the failure information. The setting means 15 retrieves an alternative route from an alternative route table 13 by using the failure information, and changes the repeating point from the repeater station 20 to a repeater station 30 for the alternative route, and designates it. Thus set alternative route is informed to a transmission control means 17, and the means 17 changes a route in a route table 16 to the alternative route, and at the same time, controls so that the changed rounte is transmitted to the terminal office 40 via a transmission signal forming means 18 and a signal transmission means 19. As a result, the end station 40 can be connected to the central station 10 through the shortest routes (d), (c).
