PURPOSE:To shorten the period of construction work by a method in which a platform body and a case caisson are separately formed or only the platform is built up, carried to a setting site, and set. CONSTITUTION:A platform body 5 and a base caisson 3 are separately built up on land an towed to a setting position X1, where the base caisson 3 is needed. The base caisson 3 is settled to the seabed 2a and the platform 5 is set on the caisson 3. When the base caisson 3 is not needed, only the platform 5 is built up on land, towed to the position X1, and set on the seabed 2a. The construction period can thus be shortened and the platform 5 can be set economically regardless of the needs for the base caisson 3.
