PURPOSE:To calculate an information reference quantity as the comparison reference by obtaining the information reference quantity of a conclusion from the information reference quantity belonging to a logical expression which is served as a precondition, the information reference quantity belonging to a logical expression which is served as a general rule, and the accuracy. CONSTITUTION:The information reference quantity as the value indicating the degree of importance of the conclusion is obtained in accordance with the information reference quantity which is the value indicating the degree of importance as information of the logical expression of the precondition, the information reference quantity which is the value indicating the degree of importance in the inference process of the logical expression of the general rule, and the accuracy which is the value indicating the certainty of the logical expression of the general rule. This obtained information reference quantity is the value indicating the weight of information which is used to lead to the conclusion, and the conclusion is more strongly backed according as this value is larger. Thus, conclusions which are selectively adopted and rejected only in accordance with the accuracy in the conventional system are selectively adapted and rejected from the viewpoint of importance as information.
