For forming a thermoplastic sheet, the latter is first held loosely between the two parts of a two-part clamping frame and is heated and, with its edges, can still execute compensatory movements on the lower part of the clamping frame. After sufficient plasticity has been obtained, the sheet is clamped in the clamping frame and shaped.
