A blocking-off device with lifting rotary wing flap for air ducts of ventilation systems is proposed, in which the lifting rotary wing flap 1 is, as is known, during opening, firstly displaced translationally over a distance parallel to the duct longitudinal direction and only then pivoted into the position parallel to the duct. The blocking-off device is characterised in that the lifting rotary wing flap 1 is held slidably on a straight guide 4 which projects perpendicularly away from a drive shaft 13 and is mounted freely rotatably thereon, the movement of the guide 4 about the drive shaft 13 being limited by a first stop 12, which predetermines the closed position of the flap 1 and from which the guide 4 can be lifted off to pivot the flap into the open position by means of a toggle lever system 7, 8, known per se, when it has run up against a further stop 6 at the end of the translational movement section. At the start of the pivoting into the open position, a locking device 14 automatically comes into operation and then firmly holds the flap 1 also in the direction away from the stop 6. <IMAGE>
