PURPOSE:To allow many unspecified users to receive personal service by means of operation inherent in individuals by operating a personal IC card from an operation part to control the telephone functions of a public telephone set. CONSTITUTION:When an IC card 14 is loaded to an IC card part 15, a processing part 17 transfers and displays prescribed information obtained from the IC card 14 to/on a display part 13 through a center bus 16. When an operator operate an operation part 12 while observing the display, the prescribed operating information is received by the IC card part 15 through the center bus 16 and sent to the IC card 14. The IC card 14 executes prescribed working processing in accordance with the operating information and outputs information. The processing part 17 displays the output information from the IC card 14 on the display part 13, and in case of control information for control ling the telephone set, transfers and sends the information to a telephone circuit part 10 and ends the operation.
