PURPOSE:To identify always clearly the information of a sub-image even if the color of a main image is changed by always holding complement relation between the display color of the sub-image and that of the main image. CONSTITUTION:A main image color signal processing circuit 1 executes the normal chrominance signal processing of a main image and always outputs the processed result as three, red, green and blue, chrominance signal with time delays. The three chrominance signals are inputted to a mixing signal output circuit 2 and also inputted to a complement determining circuit 5. The circuit 5 detects which color component out of three colors, red, green and blue, is most included in the chrominance signal information of the main image based on a timing signal outputted from a timing circuit 4 to decide the most included component. The circuit 5 commands a complement switching circuit 7 to output a chrominance signal complement to the main image on the basis of the deciding result. The circuit 7 switches a signal inputted from a sub-image signal generating circuit 16 so that the signal is complement to the main image.
