PURPOSE:To transfer a bit block at a high speed even if the address of the transfer source or the transfer destination of a bit block is across a word boundary, by using a register to shift or rotate the bit block to be transferred. CONSTITUTION:A register RGST having the same bit capacity as one block address is provided. A bit block BITB of the transfer source is latched in this register RGST so that bit positions of this bit block are equal to those in the block address of the transfer source. The latch output is so shifted that bit positions of the bit block are equal to those in the block address of the transfer destination, and this bit block is written in the block address of the transfer destination. Thus, the number of times of transfer of the bit block BITB is reduced to quickly transfer the bit block.
