<p>The belt 1 is suspended from a guiding rail 30 through a plurality of rolling supports 29. An electronic detector 7 receives the signals sent by three optical fibre cells 8, 9, 10 transversely arranged with respect to the belt and aligned with its symmetry axis, two of which 8,9 are at a distance apart corresponding to the mesh gap slightly increased by a pre-established magnitude, whereas the other one 10 is spaced further from the first one 8, thereby recording by corresponding counters 19,23,24 the total number of meshes of the belt, of worn meshes, and of meshes to be replaced, depending on whether the first cell 8 detects the mesh gaps, the outputs of the first two 8,9 simultaneously coincide at a mesh gap, or the outputs of the three of them 8,9,10 coincide at a mesh gap. When the outputs of the three cells coincide at a mesh gap, which indicates that a mesh 2 and bolts 4 must be replaced for excessive wear, a paint sprayer is actuated, so that the mesh previous to the defective one is painted, this previous mesh being located out of the field of action of the cells. <IMAGE></p> |
