摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a position detecting device, which can detect the position of light projected on an arbitrary point on an amorphous semiconductor layer readily, by depositing a transparent conductor film on one surface of the light input side of amorphous semiconductor layers, which generate electric power with the projection of the light, and providing output terminals, which divide a current flowing in the conductor film in the X and Y directions and guide out the currents. CONSTITUTION:When light is projected, electric power is generated in amorphous semiconductor layers 3 having P-I-N junctions. A first conductor layer 2 comprising a transparent conductor film 2 is deposited on one surface of the light input side of the layers 3. A second conductor layer 4 comprising a metal is deposited on the other surface. First-fourth output terminals 21-24 are provided at the four sides of the conductor layer 2 in order to divide the current flowing in the first conductor layer 2 in the X direction and the Y direction and to guide out the currents. Light is projected on an arbitrary point of the amorphous semiconductor 3. The currents are guided out of the first and second output terminals 21 and 22, and the X coordinate of the arbitrary point is obtained based on the current values. The Y coordinates of the arbitrary point is obtained based on the current values from the third and fourth output terminals 23 and 24. The arbitrary point is detected by the intersection of said two coordinates.
