To provide a simple fault detection in circuits cast in synthetic resin, an electrically conductive needle, to which ultrasound is applied, is driven through the synthetic resin until it encounters the circuit point to be contacted, in which case it is then used as electrical connection for picking up and bringing out the electrical signals. This provides for non-destructive fault testing in a simple manner even after a circuit has been encapsulated without the circuit itself being destroyed or damaged.
