The lid of a drum-shaped large household package can be designed to be child-resistant regardless of the presence of a carrying handle if it consists, on the one hand, of a lid ring (2) which is firmly connected to the drum and has an internal thread (11) provided on its internal circumference (10) and, on the other hand, of a lid disc (3) to be screwed into the internal thread, and if a retaining cam (5), mounted resiliently in the direction of the placed-on lid disc (3), is provided on the lid ring (2) and a locking opening (4) is assigned to said retaining cam in the lid disc (3). When the lid disc (3) is inserted into the internal thread (11), the retaining cam (5) engages in the locking opening (4). <IMAGE>
