PURPOSE:To properly photograph images for right and left eyes by controlling the convergent angles of right and left cameras and time constants for adjusting the convergent angles based on an image pickup distance in accordance with the data of human convergent eyeball motion. CONSTITUTION:A distance (d) between photographing cameras 1, 2 and an object O to be photographed is measured by a range finder 3 and the measured data are sent to a CPU 6. The CPU 6 calculates a convergent angle theta corre sponding to the photographing distance (d) and outputs the calculated value by referring a table previously stored in a ROM 6A. The convergent angle thetais applied to a comparator 9. On the other hand, a convergent angle detected by a potentiometer 4 is converted into digital data theta by an A/D converter 4a and applied to the comparator 9 together with a stereoscopic value control factor alpha. The comparator 9 detects a required adjusting angle theta=alpha(theta-theta1) to set up a prescribed time constant of an integrator 10. |
