PURPOSE:To measure the ion concn. of a specimen solution containing protein with high accuracy by allowing the inter-electrode potential with a glass electrode potential with a glass electrode to depend on only an ion concn. regardless of the protein concn. in the specimen solution, by vitrifying the outer peripheral surface of a liquid contact part formed of a solid electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A liquid contact part 1 is constituted by forming a glassy solid electrolyte such as glassy carbon into a rod shape while securing the rod shaped electrolyte to the lower part of a glass pipe 2 being a substrate in a liquid- tight state and connected to a lead wire 4 through the reference electrode solution 3 received in a glass tube. When thus constituted reference electrode is immersed in a specimen solution containing protein, the protein in the specimen solution is adhered to the surface of the liquid contact part 1 having glassy property and the potential of the reference electrode is varied. Because the potential variation of the glass electrode caused by protein adhesion is generated even in the glass electrode used along with the reference electrode in pair, the potential difference between the reference electrode and the glass electrode, that is, the ion concn. measuring signal can be measured without receiving protein influence. |
