<p>PURPOSE:To improve jitter performance by determining the rotation with recording pilot signals and reference pilot signals by using head switching signals to make a recording and a reproducing with a four-head small-diameter cylinder be executed always by the same head. CONSTITUTION:At the time of recording, by using head switching signals 56-59, pilot signals for the rotation of the outputs 5-e of an OR circuit 64 are obtained, and one-cycle pilot signals f1-f4 that are coincident with selected heads CH1-CH4 are recorded. At the time of reproducing, by using the pilot switching signals 56-59, the reference pilot signals 5-e to be supplied to a tracking error ATF detection circuit 13 are generated. For instance, in case of a reproduction by the head CH1, errors signals against a track in which pilot signals f1 are recorded are detected. In case of a reproduction, by the head CH2, error signals against a track in which the pilot signals f2 are recorded are detected. As a result, the head used at the time of recording and that used for reproducing can be made the same one.</p> |
