PURPOSE:To obtain the title composite excellent in mechanical properties and hue, by using a hybrid fiber of an organic fiber with a specified fiber as a reinforcement and using a plastic or a metals as a matrix. CONSTITUTION:10-70vol% reinforcement (A) which is a hybrid fiber of an inorganic fiber (a) comprising an internal layer (i) comprising an inorganic substance containing Si, C and O, which is an aggregate comprising an amorphous substance comprising Si, C and O and/or crystalline ultrafine particles comprising beta-SiC and having a particle diameter <=500Angstrom and amorphous SiO2 and a surface layer (ii) comprising an inorganic substance containing Si, O and, optionally, at most 5wt% C, which is an amorphous substance comprising Si, O and/or crystalline SiO2 with at least one fiber (b) selected from among a carbon fiber, a glass fiber, a boron fiber, an aramid fiber and a silicon carbide fiber having a carbon core is mixed with a matrix (B) which is a plastic or a metal.
