PURPOSE:To form a colored antireflection film in such a manner that the reflection characteristics in the two directions: front and rear, of said film coincide with each other by applying absorptive layers (desired colored layers) between 1st and 2nd layers and between 3rd and 4th layers from the air side of the transparent 6-layered antireflection film. CONSTITUTION:The absorptive layers are inserted between the 1st and 2nd layers and between the 3rd and 4th layers from the air side of such transparent 6-layered antireflection films in which the film constitution consists of air/L/H/L/ H/L/H/glass when a low-refractive index layer is designated as L and a high- refractive index layer as H. The amts. of the phase shifts in the two directions; front and rear, are, therefore, the same regardless of whether the absorption quality is large or small. The reflection characteristics in the two directions are thereby matched, i.e., the same reflection color is obtainable.
