PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber composition improved in roll adhesion and stickiness in an unvulcanized state, by mixing a rubbery polymer comprising ethylene and an alpha-olefin and/or a conjugated diene with a specified phenolic group- containing cyclopentadiene resin. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. conjugated double bond-containing five-membered ring compound of the formula (wherein R is a 1-3C alkyl, m and n are each 0 or >=1 and m+n=6) and/or its Diels-Alder adduct are copolymerized with 2-200pts.wt. mono- or poly-phenol or alkyl-substituted derivative thereof (e.g., tert-butylphenol) at 150-300 deg.C for 10min-20hr in an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent to obtain a phenolic hydroxyl group-containing cyclopentadiene resin (B) of a softening point of 50-180 deg.C. 0.5-30pts.wt. component B is added to 100pts.wt. rubbery polymer comprising ethylene, a 3-5C alpha-olefin and/or a conjugated diene. |
