PURPOSE:To inexpensively perform measurement by dispensing with the inclination measuring part to a car body, by calculating the inclination of the car body from the advance quantities of each pair of the contact elements of a measuring means arranged on the outside of each wheel when said contact elements are brought into contact with the wheel and correcting the calculated value to calculate each tow quantity. CONSTITUTION:When the tow quantity of each of wheels 2a-2d is measured, a car 2 is allowed to advance between left and right, and before and behind measuring means 1a-1d and the wheels are allowed to ride on the turntable provided to the floor surface in front of the means 1a-1d. Thereafter, the contact elements 4, 4 of each of the means 1a-1d are brought into contact with the outer side surface of each wheel and each of the means 1a-1d measures the advance quantities of the contact element 4, 4 by a sensor composed of a potentiometer to output the same to an operation means 6. The means 6 calculates the quantity of inclination of the car 2 to the center line of each wheel thereof with respect to the center line of a tester from said advance quantities and the quantity of inclination is corrected with respect to the difference between the advance quantities of the contact elements of the means 1a-1d to calculate the two quantity of each wheel. A result is displayed on a display device 7.
