PURPOSE:To remove oxide with an easy operation and to improve the heat retaining property of a molten metal by dropping a heat insulating material vessel in which the molten metal is charged onto a plunger tip, and moving upward the plunger tip after bringing a top mold into press contact with a bottom mold thereby casting the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:A molten metal is charged into a heat insulating material vessel 20, and the vessel 20 contg. the molten metal is carried to above a bottom mold 1 of a vertical high-pressure casting machine, where the tapered part in the bottom end part of a holding means is fitted into the reverse tapered part at the top end of a shot sleeve 3. When the plate on which the vessel is placed is drawn off, the vessel 20 falls onto the top end face 4a of a plunger tip 4. The molds are then clamped and the tip 4 is moved upward to force the molten metal in the vessel 20 through a runner 7 into a cavity 8. The vessel 20 is crushed between the mating surface 12 of a top mold 5 and the top end face 4a of the plunger tip. |
