PURPOSE:To enable higher resolutions of acceleration to be detected and a higher response, by a method wherein a signal is made to overlap the detection signal with the frequency sufficiently larger than that of the detection signal and supplied to a torquer coil to always oscillate a vibrator. CONSTITUTION:Light of a light emitting element 21 is converted to electricity with light receiving sections 20a and 20b of a light receiving element 20 and a detection signal of a difference is generated with a differential amplifier 32. The detection signal is mixed with a signal with the frequency sufficiently larger than the detection signal using a differential amplifier 33 to be added to a low pass filter 35 via a torquer coil 25 and the detection signal cleared of an undesired high pass component is outputted at a terminal 36a. When acceleration is applied to a vibration 10, a light shielding pin 16 tends to be dislocated. With the dislocation, the quantity of light received with the light receiving sections 20a or 20b changes to generate a detection signal, which flows through the torquer coil 25 and drives the vibrator 10 in the direction to return the pin 16. Thus, as the vibrator 10 is kept oscillated by a signal from the circuit 34, the vibrator 10 is readily dislocated with the application of any fine acceleration thereby achieving higher resolutions.
