PURPOSE:To easily install a cassette holder by using a part of a holding frame or a member interlocked with the holding frame, as a cassette size detecting dog, providing a position detector on a holder base, and detecting a moving position of the dog. CONSTITUTION:An end part bending part of a moving frame 18 is used as a cassette size detecting dog 18b, and on the rear wall of a holder base 10 to which this dog 18b corresponds, a position detector 23 such as a line sensor, etc. is provided. A cassette 5 of some size is set onto a cassette holder 12, a moving frame 18 is moved and fixed with a screw 18a, and when loading of the cassette is completed, a moving position of the dog 18b of the moving frame 18 is detected by the position detector 23 provided on the holder base 10. This position detection corresponds to a detection of a cassette size, and by using this detecting signal, an X-ray diaphragm device, etc. are adjusted, and an X-ray irradiation field conforming to a loaded cassette, and also, conforming to a size of an X-ray film to be used is set. In such a way, the cassette holder can be installed easily.
