PURPOSE:To easily execute a connection to an optical fiber by only adjusting an optical axis with respect to one function, by providing one piece or more of linear optical waveguides at a prescribed interval on the side of an original optical waveguide pattern. CONSTITUTION:The waveguide interval of an optical access use optical waveguide 1 and an interval between the optical waveguide 1 and a linear waveguide 2, and an interval between optical fibers 6, 7 are equalized. The linear waveguide 2 is a one-input one-output waveguide, therefore, when two optical fiber arrays 4 are butted to the optical waveguide 2, a connection to optical fibers 7a, 7b can be coupled by only adjusting the optical axis. The interval of the optical waveguides 1, 2 and the interval of the optical fibers 5-7 are equal, therefore, when the optical fiber 7 and the linear waveguide 2 are connected, the optical waveguide 1 and the optical axes of the optical fibers 5, 6 coincide almost mechanically, and each insertion loss also becomes small. In such a way, the optical waveguide and the optical fiber can be connected by a simple optical axis adjustment, and also, by a small insertion loss. |
