PURPOSE:To obtain a combustion sound inspecting device which is applicable to many kinds of gas hot-water suppliers by combining a data logger device which records a sound pressure level in frequency units with a CPU which analyzes a gas combustion sound. CONSTITUTION:This inspecting instrument consists of gas hot-water suppliers 1 and 1' to be inspected, a microphone 2 which inputs their gas combustion sound, the data logger device 3 which stores the sound pressure levels of the sound in frequency units, a combustion sound decision data 5 obtained by storing the recorded gas combustion sound internally, etc. Then, the combustion sound decision data 5 for each kind of the hot-water supplies 1 and 1' is registered previously and processed by the CPU 4. Then the gas combustion tone of the hot-water supplier 1 to be inspected is inputted by the microphone 2 and the sound pressure level of the combustion tone is recorded on the device 3 in frequency units. Then the upper-limit and lower-limit data of the data 5 are inputted to the CPU and only effective combustion data on the device between the upper-limit and lower-limit data are inputted to the CPU according to said data; and the sound pressure level of specific frequency in normal combustion is compared with the combustion tone data to make a normal/abnormal decision.
