PURPOSE:To measure the aerodynamic characteristic in a machine axis direction, by incorporating a spring having a predetermined spring constant in the pod of a model deformation apparatus and making sting supporting a wind test model slidable in the pod before and behind. CONSTITUTION:A lock pin 5 is pulled off from a sting 2 by lock pin release wire 6 at the time of the testing of a wind tunnel, and the sting 2 and a wind test model are extruded in the direction shown by an arrow (a) at predetermined acceleration by a spring 4. The extruded wind test model advances over a predetermined stroke and subsequently stops by the natural attenuation of the spring 4. By this method, the aerodynamic characteristic of the wind test model in the machine axis direction thereof can be measured by the wind tunnel test. Further, when the spring 4 is preliminarily formed into a replaceable structure, measurement can be performed at acceleration corresponding to necessity and the testing capacity of a wind tunnel testing apparatus is increased.
