PURPOSE:To permit an intake turbulent flow added with a swirl to effectively act into a combustion chamber by arranging a fuel injection nozzle having a injection port which has further an air introducing hole communicating to the top part of a piston from a combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:When a piston 1 reaches the vicinity of the final period of the compression cycle, a skewish stream V which collides with the bottom wall 4b and flows along the curved surface 4a and directed in the upper part of an opened port 15 along the peripheral side wall 4a is formed in a combustion chamber 4. The air stream T jetted into the combustion chamber 4 from an air introducing hole 9 at the same time is spread and dispersed by the collision with the skewish flow V, and conveyed to the upper part side of the opening 15, and a turbulent flow R for accelerating the mixing with the fuel supplied in mist form from an injection port 12 with the air is generated. While, since, in the combustion chamber 4, a swirl S directed to the center side from the peripheral side wall 4a side is generated, the fuel whose mixing and evaporation are accelerated by the turbulent flow R is first ignited, and the flame generated by the ignition is speedily propagated to the mixed gas on the center side of the combustion chamber 4.
