PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a developing device by flipping an edge part of the toner supply opening part of a toner cartridge by a toner supply means and opening and closing the toner supply opening part by elastic deformation, and thus supplying toner into a developing device housing. CONSTITUTION:Both edge parts 13 and 15 of the toner supply opening part contact the toner cartridge 10, and the toner supply means contacts and leaves the projection edge part 14 of the toner cartridge 190. Here, a rotating shaft 23 as the toner supply means is rotated through a gear 24 by driving a driving means, and then rotates while flipping the projection edge part 11 of the toner cartridge 10 with a projection 23a. Thus the projection edge part 14 is flipped and a 2nd edge part 15 deforms elastically to form a gap instantaneously with the 1st edge part 13, so that toner falls in a housing 25, little by little, by passing through the gap. Consequently, the constitution of the toner cartridge 10 is simplified and reduced in cost and the space dedicated to the toner cartridge 10 is made small.
