PURPOSE:To lessen the reduction of the sensitivity and the deterioration of the gradation of the titled material caused by controlling the development and to prevent the generation of a fog by incorporating a specific compd. in a silver halide emulsion layer and/or a hydrophilic colloidal layer adjacent to the emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material comprises at least one layer of a silver halide emulsion layer and contains at least one of a compd. shown by formula I and at least one of a compd. shown by formula II in the silver halide emulsion layer and/or the hydrophilic colloidal layer adjacent to said emulsion layer. In formula I, Y is aryl or a 5-6 membered heterocyclic ring group, R<1> and R<2> are each hydrogen atom, an aliphatic or an aromatic group, (m) is 1 or 1, (n) is 0 or 1. In formula II, (l) is an integer of 2 or 3 and is a number of hydroxy group, R<3> is hydrogen or halogen atom, etc., R<4> is hydrogen atom or an aliphatic group, etc. Thus, the reduction of the sensitivity and the deterioration of the gradation of the titled material caused by controlling the development are prevented, and the generation of the fog is prevented. |
