PURPOSE:To perform position control with high operation reliability by eliminating a mechanism for setting a moving body previously and then simplifying a mechanism and reducing components. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid controller 20 is applies a voltage to a monostable combination solenoid 21 so as to allow a escape wheel 2 to rotate, and stops powering on the monostable combination solenoid 21 when the counted value of a reverse induced voltage counting voltage 5 reaches a specific value, thereby inhibiting the ratchet wheel 2 from rotating. The position of the moving body 1 can be detected by counting a reverse induced voltage and also controlled by controlling the power supply to the monostable combination solenoid 21. Therefore, a mechanism for detecting the position of the moving body 1 and a mechanism for controlling the position of the moving body 1 need not be provided individually. Consequently, the position detector which is simple in mechanism, consists of a small number of components, and has high operation reliability is obtained.
