PURPOSE:To make it possible to effectively prevent inclination of a power piston by hinge-connecting the power piston and a pair of connecting rods by a cross head. CONSTITUTION:A cross head 18 and a power piston 17 are hinge-connected to each other by a joint pin 19, and the cross head 18 and respective connecting rods 20, 21 are hinge-connected to each other joint pins 22. Thereby, the power piston 17 oscillates without inclination at the normal position so that power may be transmitted to the connecting rods 20, 21 and further to a crank shaft. Accordingly, the power piston 17 is not subjected to occurance of waste of energy, vibration, noise etc., caused by a difference in the length of the connecting rods 20, 21, and is able to reciprocates in a cylinder 17 smoothly.
