PURPOSE:To open most of a carrying path and reduce the weight of a frame body turned toward the open position by setting an electrophotographic sensitive body and an image forming means to an auxiliary supporting frame body and setting a carrying system, which carriers a sheet member, and a main driving source to a main supporting frame body. CONSTITUTION:A housing consists of a main supporting frame body 4 and an auxiliary supporting frame body 6 freely turnable set to the main supporting frame body 4. An electric motor 88 is set to the main supporting frame body 4, and a transfer corona discharger 54 and a peeling destaticizer 56 are set between vertical front and rear substrates 92 together with a carrying system 64 (a feeding roller member 70, a guide member 74, a pair of heat fixing rollers 78, etc.). An optical device (an irradiating lamp 42, a reflection plate 44, and an optical element 46) is set between front and rear substrates 96 of the auxiliary supporting frame body 6, and further, a process unit 16 is freely attachably and detachably set. The total sum of the weight of the auxiliary supporting frame body 6 and various constituting elements set to it is relatively light and the auxiliary supporting frame body 6 is easily turned to the open position.
